Thom Gencarelli of Broadcasting recently gave a talk, "Whither Popular Music," at the Bayonne Jewish Community Center as part of its Leisure and Learning Program. Jonathan Lincoln of Earth and Environmental Studies gave a presentation on the geology of New Jersey to fifth graders at Lincoln-Hubbard School in Summit. David Singer of Music will be featured as a guest artist with the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society in January and February. He will perform in four concerts of the Society's Celebration Series commemorating the most popular commissioned works written for the Society over the past 30 years. The pieces on which he will be featured include many of today's modern composers including Peter Schickele, Gunther Schuller, John Corigliano, Oliver Knussen and David Del Tredici. * * * *
