I. Welcome:
C. Meneghin called meeting to order at 12:18pm.
Minutes – M. Brown motions to accept minutes, L. seconds

Reading: Bergen Community College Faculty Pledges to Ethics Code by Patricia Alex www.northjersey.com L. Smith facilitated the discussion.

II. Other:
E. Abreau proposed to expand Affirmative Action day to make it interactive along with hosting keynote speaker. If members are interested in becoming involved email E. Abreau

Mary Colon had a baby girl, Alyssa Colon both mother and daughter are now home. L. Smith will send a congratulatory card on behalf of the committee.

R. Williams was acknowledged for his many accolades and awards for his work with the MSU community during the Annual Awards Ceremony from University Police.

J. Hain reported on the accessibility to College Hall and University Hall, the issues are prioritized regarding money and person power. Security at the resident halls are high priority, at the end of the Spring semester the new assess to College and University Hall doors will be in place.

L. Smith reported that Admissions is moving from Russ Hall to College Hall in the near future. Jason Langdon spoke to her about the blue prints with an eye towards individuals with physical disabilities. Mr. Langdon is proposing that the new door that between College Hall that go into the Admissions office be an automatic door, giving everyone access to admissions and other offices in the building. L. Smith wanted to publicly commend and thank Jason Langdon for his inclusively and respect.

C. Meneghin reported that she and Matt Pierce are working on a campus map project that will have graphical point descriptions that includes additional assistance in getting around campus, accessibility and options.

III. Campus Communication:
C. Meneghin reported that campus communication be sensitive to the method that is used to describe people, specifically on alerts regarding alleged perpetrators. The suggestion is that the description of the alleged perpetrators would be all in one paragraph as oppose to pulling one descriptive aspect out and using it continuously throughout the report. A discussion was facilitated about this suggestion.

IV. Committee Reports:
Mentoring:
M. Carter reported that the mentoring committee has been working on the questionare and the feedback has led the committee to re-examine the questionnaire. The launch date thus will be delayed.

Recruitment
O. Scrednick reported that the committee will gather information and schedule a meeting to discuss next steps

Education
J. Harris reported the intended student fair date will be Feb. 27th 12 – 2pm

M. Brown acknowledged J. Harris’ Martin Luther King Award that he received on January 10th.

V. Other:
Motion to adjourn A. Gutierez motioned to adjourn meeting, R. Williams second.
