  • Call to Order
    Welcome
    • Chairperson C. Meneghin called the meeting to order at 1:09 pm

  • Minutes
    J. Slagle approved the February minutes, C. Matteis second the minutes.  The minutes were approved as submitted.

  • Discussion
    D. Keiser discussed the roles of professors regarding issues of hate and bias crimes at Montclair State University. He reported to the committee from a meeting with the faculty from Center for Pedagogy.

    No report

  • Mentoring
    E. Abreu reported that the committee is working on the survey which will be launched in April. The MSU baskets incentives are in good shape, the launch will be implemented before the advance.

  • Education
    No report

  • Accessibility
    L. Smith was unable to meet with Greg Bressler and team before the end of the semester. The meeting between Dr. Pennington with L. Smith and G. Bressler was productive; the PCAA’s collective concerns were discussed.  They would like the committee to list the priorities of the recommendations.  The University will be able to conduct this process from one project at a time.  L. Smith will write why each concern is essential.  The meeting concluded that the University is in need of an ADA coordinator to serve as a point person, for the time being it will be G. Rivera.  If a student comes to someone with a complaint/grievance they will be able to address L. Smith or G. Rivera.

  • Updates
    • Annual Advance planning: B. Milton, J. Hain, E. Abreu, and J. Velasco will meet to discuss bias response and anti-bias education for the Advance. 

  • Annual Report planning
    • Committees must submit annual reports by April 30, 2007.

  • Other
    Civility
    D. Ragin has received no response to Civility Statement and would like to hear from the committee. A brief discussion followed regarding the First Annual Peace Conference. The data gathered by J. Hain, B. Milton, and M. Semler – in reference to profiles of MSU employees over a 5 year period was distributed. C. Please send any comments, questions or concerns to the Executive Committee by April 10th, 2007.
