I. Welcome:
C. Meneghin called meeting to order at 12:22pm.
Minutes – J. Harris motioned to accept February minutes, C. Matteis second motion, minutes approved as submitted.

II. Reading:
Senator Obama’s speech on Race. C. Meneghin led a discussion

III. Committees:
Mentoring:
M. Carter – presented a questionnaire draft that will be going out to the MSU community. The primary objective is to find out what people know about mentoring and the subject. This questionnaire is intended to be sent as a web survey using ID.

Recruitment
O. Rodriguez-Srennicki discussed how the committee looked at student retention and recruitment the data shows that MSU is doing fairly well as compared to other institutions.

Education:
No report

IV. Other:
Affirmative Action day – C. Meneghin reported that the event had more students than we have had before. The Executive Committee will be planning now for next year’s event with the formula of student presentation.

Members of the poetry slam team are asking if the PCAA would support them in their bid to go to New Mexico for a slam team competition. C. Carter, motioned that SDCL work first on supporting the team, and thanked the committee for considering helping.

A professional video tape was created of the Affirmative Action day event, a copy will be available at the library.
