I. Welcome:
C. Meneghin called meeting to order at 12:22pm.
J. Harris moved to accept the minutes , D. Lorenzo second the minutes. L. Smith will send out an email of last month’s attendance.

II. GLBTQ minor discussion:
Dr. Sally McWilliams gave an overview of the new GLBTQ minor program and the academic history of the word “queer” when describing the field of study. A discussion followed regarding committee members feelings towards the use of the word queer. The PCAA is not looking to act up upon using or not using the word queer, rather in a discussion of understanding the use of it in academic setting.

IV. Updates
President Cole informed C. Meneghin that no one is allowed to give out awards outside convocation or graduation. As a result the PCAA will not be able to give out awards on Affirmative action day. A discussion was evoked about what to do for Affirmative Action day.

The Executive Committee will arrange a meeting with members of University Police to discuss campus communication alerts.

Dr Cole’s response to the 2006/07 PCAA-Annual Report:
B. Milton focused on the 4th paragraph to ensure the faculty and staff represent the diversity in the student body. “From a national standpoint we are doing well. As compared to other NJ universities MSU ranks 5th compared to others the best one is William Paterson as it relates to faculty.”

Committees were asked to send reports to J. Velasco.

V. Other

E. Abreu reported that Laura Napa would like to add the implementation of having “no sex” bathrooms on campus.

The meeting adjourned at 2:12 p.m.
