•  Call to Order

•  Welcome
Chairperson C. Meneghin called the meeting to order at 1:03pm.

•  Minutes
G. Balestacci approved the November minutes, J. Slagle second the minutes.   The minutes were approved as submitted.

•  Civility in Electronic Communication
D. Ragin discussed the memorandum from 12.20.06 on the subject of email correspondences regarding holiday greetings and inappropriate communication, raising issues of civility, communication and respect through email/electronic communication. Members of the PCAA were asked to bring the memorandum to constituents for additional comments, questions and concerns that may not have been addressed.   All comments must be submitted to D. Ragin for the February meeting.

•  Reading/Raising Awareness
L. Jenkins facilitated discussion on reading and section of raising awareness.

•  Updates
E. Abreu informed the group regarding the All together Different - Diversity Training for Faculty and Staff on January 10, 2007 if you are interested in attending notify Rick Brown at ext. 4404.

C. Meneghin discussed how the Executive Committee is working towards - safe space training regarding issues of diversity, inclusion, civility and respect.   J. Tursi voiced her interest in involving a student point of view for the training.

Affirmative Action Day

C. Meneghin informed the group that everything is going as planned with Tim Wise for the day.   However the PCAA is behind with marketing and monetary support from constituencies and the SGA.   She mentioned the interest in having the SGA to continue support for advertisement/food/ and support for tables to be accessible for the student community.   If any member is aware of any monies available to support this program please contact L. Jenkins jenkinsl@mail.montclair.edu   for financial support for Tim Wise and the activities of the day. Feb. 7 th Wed at 2:30.

Transportation
L. Smith informed the group that Evrim Ay is managing the shuttles with incredible persistence.   He has been sharing spread sheets with L. Smith's office for students with disabilities.   L. Smith was on the search committee to assure that the final candidates had experience with ADA components. Although the University has met the legal mandated parking spaces, we still continue to have an issue with doors to many of the buildings that are not.   L. Smith also stressed the need to continue to talk about more parking and transportation accessibility in addition to working on making the entire campus accessible for all people.

Recruitment
M. Brown reported the committee did not meet but have assignments.

Education
J. Slagle Ed. has worked out a scheduled out for Affirmative Action day.

Mentoring

M. Carter reported that the committee is ready to move forward with questionnaire.   The committee will discuss the means in which to disseminate the questionnaire.   Thank your mentor day is January 25 th - ecards will be available.
