World's Fair Day

Montclair State University is a community of individuals from various racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds representing every part of the global family. This diversity is to be celebrated because of the special qualities and rich experiences that are gained from a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.

Higher education thrives on the exchange of ideas and experiences through a process of rational and civil discourse, and such discourse demands appreciation and respect for, and sensitivity to, the similarities and differences among us.

Montclair State University proudly celebrates its diversity and is committed to promoting activities that foster greater understanding of, and appreciation for, the world’s varied cultures and languages.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Susan A. Cole, President of Montclair State University, hereby proclaim April 23, 2009 as "World’s Fair Day" at Montclair State University, and I encourage our entire campus community to join me in celebrating this occasion.
