Karen De Luca
After working in the advertising world for over 28 years as an art director/designer and then as
creative director, I have found my way to the academic world. I will always have a passion for the
many avenues of graphic design.
In my classes, I try to bring the reality of the workplace to the classroom. I will introduce students
to many of my professional colleagues; photographers, illustrators, web masters and some former
I am married for 42 years, have one son (a Montclair graduate) and one granddaughter, Valentina.
We live in Clifton. I do some watercolor pencil painting and drawing for relaxation.
I know a great deal about how the designer works well with the business side of the advertising/marketing.
My knowledge of corporate identity and advertising design for all aspects, print, broadcast, trade merchandising,
and web/social media are assets to the classroom assignments. My resources for materials and graphic services
is quite extensive.
