Jeanne Marano is responsible for the coordination and management of all aspects of Montclair State University’s alumni engagement office. She leads a team working to build an inclusive and supportive community among alumni, students and the University through the development of meaningful engagement opportunities and mutually enriching connections.

In addition, Ms. Marano is responsible for leading the area of annual giving, which includes direct mail campaigns, e-appeals, crowdfunding, ONE DAY for Montclair and other channels, focused on establishing a culture of philanthropy among alumni, friends, parents and students, and raising funds that have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of our students, including support for scholarships, book funds, new program development, technologies and other university priorities.

A graduate of Seton Hall (BA) and New York University (MA), Ms. Marano has over 28 years of experience in higher education and alumni engagement, with expertise in strategic planning and implementation, program development, events planning, volunteer leadership, operations management and in spearheading successful start-up ventures.

Ms. Marano has held leadership positions at Seton Hall University, Drew University, and the NYU Stern School of Business, where she has presented at annual professional conferences on topics including recent graduate engagement, international alumni programming and developing metrics.

In 2014, Ms. Marano was selected to chair the New Jersey Consortium of Alumni Professionals, an organization dedicated to advancing the profession. She leads quarterly meetings to identify and discuss industry best practices and works on developing the program content for the annual conference held each summer.
