Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the Minor in G.L.B.T.Q. Studies, Sociology
Part-Time Employee, The Center for Career Services and Cooperative Education
Profile
As a faculty member is the Sociology Department, I regularly teach courses in Sexuality and Family, and the Senior Research Project. For 2009-2011 I am the Coordinator of the recently begun Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Minor (GLBTQ) housed in the Women and Gender Studies(WMGS)department. I regularly teach a section of the Contemporary Civilization course in the Honors Program as well.
I am interested in shifting public attitudes toward the GLBTQ population and homosexuality. I am also involved in theorizing the problematics of what is perceived as certain transgressive forms of sexual behavior.
