Managerial Performance Evaluation and Reappointment Recommendation

January 4, 2017 -Managerial Performance Evaluation and Reappointment Form made available online.

January 4-18, 2017 - Immediate supervisor completes performance evaluation form.*

January 18-25, 2017 - Immediate supervisor and employee meet to discuss performance. Immediate supervisor forwards form, with any changes, electronically to employee for e-signature after performance discussion.

January 25-30, 2017- Employee writes in optional comments, e-signs the form and returns the form, via email, back to the immediate supervisor

February 2, 2017 - Immediate supervisor forwards, via email, to department unit head.**

February 15, 2017 - Unit head completes their section of the form and forwards, via email, to division vice president.

March 1, 2017 - Vice president completes their section of the form and forwards, via email: reappointment@montclair.edu , to Vice President for Human Resources– CCs sent to unit head, immediate supervisor and employee.

March 31, 2017 - Vice President for Human Resources, reviews form for completeness and content, then forwards forms to the University President.

June 2, 2017Board of Trustees acts on reappointment recommendations of President

June 9, 2017Notification to employee of Board of Trustees action – Reappointment

June 23, 2017Employee returns signed reappointment letter to Human Resources

*Supervisors who are requiring their Managers to do a self-assessment will do so at this point by notifying the Manager being evaluated by checking Yes for Self-Assessment on page 1 of the Managerial Performance Evaluation and Reappointment Document.  

**If there is no unit head, immediate supervisor forwards the form directly to the divisional vice president.

September 14, 2016 - Consultation between immediate supervisor and candidate with respect to functional working relationships and job responsibilities

September 23, 2016 - Self-evaluation and forward to immediate supervisor

September 28, 2016 - Recommendation of department, program or function head to immediate supervisor

October 3, 2016 - Immediate supervisor notifies candidate of recommendation

October 11, 2016 - Recommendation of immediate supervisor to unit head

October 18, 2016 - Recommendation of unit head to division vice president

November 4, 2016 - Recommendation to president and candidate from division vice president

November 9, 2016 - Last day candidate can request meeting with division vice president

November 23, 2016 - Recommendations from president to Board of Trustees and notification to professional staff members (including statement on career development needs, if pertinent)

December 19, 2016 - Notification of Board of Trustees’ action

January 3, 2017 - Acceptance of multi-year contract to president or designee

* Note: Professional Staff requesting review by the Professional Staff Review Board (PSRB) in accordance with LSPA 1.3.2 shall be provided an individual calendar for review of the relevant personnel action.

November 4, 2016 - Last day candidate can request meeting with division vice president

November 18, 2016 - Recommendations from president to Board of Trustees and notification to professional staff members

December 19, 2016 - Notification of Board of Trustees’ action
