The Associate Provost for Academic Programs and Assessment manages all undergraduate and graduate curricular actions through all appropriate approval bodies. Oversees and coordinates General Education and Departmental Academic Assessment planning and implementation. Organizes Accreditation materials/ procedures for Middle States Accreditation and provides direction and support for departmental or program accreditations. Oversees and coordinates the Online Learning Initiative in collaboration with faculty, RAUL and OIT.

Executive Assistant to the Provost/VPAA

The Executive Assistant to the Provost is responsible for all financial and budget related matters within Academic Affairs. This includes developing and implementing appropriate review processes and budget controls. She also works on special projects for the Provost.

Mary Colón
Executive Administrative Specialist for Academic Affairs

The Executive Administrative Specialist for Academic Affairs is the support point of contact for all initial inquiries regarding faculty personnel actions, including institutional policies and contracts. This includes processing and maintaining faculty, professional staff and librarian personnel transactions. Providing support directly to the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, the Executive Administrative Specialist serves as liaison to units campus-wide, maintains the Provost's Website, and the Chairs Forms webpage. Additionally, she coordinates the electronic Instructional Service Reports and updates the online Administrative Calendar and Faculty Handbook.

 

Barbara Ritola
Administrative Coordinator

Responsible for sequencing all undergraduate and graduate curricular actions through all appropriate approval bodies, (including the University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Graduate Council, and MSU Board of Trustees, as well as the Academic Issues Committee of the New Jersey Presidents' Council and the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education.) Responsible for preparation and campus-wide distribution of approved Curricular Actions. Chief contact for Five Year External Review Committee process, including maintenance of five-year cycle visitation calendar, facilitation of invitation process, coordination of scheduled visits, and liaison between Deans, Department Chairs and Provost during visitation. Facilitates the Accreditation process and the Online Learning Initiative.

 

 

JoAnne Christiano
Secretary to the Provost

Providing support as the office manager and oversees the operations within the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.  Keeps track of all projects that the Provost oversees.  She is responsible for hiring and the direct supervision of student assistants and part-time employees. Maintains the Provost's calendar and takes care of outgoing correspondence and memos. Reviews all incoming correspondence and communicates with statewide organizations.

Providing support to the Associate Provost for Academic Programs and Assessment, this includes working directly with faculty and professional staff on the development and implementation of learning outcomes assessment plans, collection of data and analysis and reporting of data.

Professional Services Specialist

Providing secretarial support for the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, this includes those processes for tenure, reappointment and promotion. This assistance extends also to processing faculty search expenses, Instructional Service Reports and coordination of on-campus workshops and retreats; and finally, the maintenance of faculty and professional staff files.
