Advisors are available both day and evening for students who have not yet declared a major and those who intend to change majors. Advisors are also responsible for evaluating transfer credits.Full- and part-time matriculated students who have declared majors are assigned to and counseled by faculty advisors in their respective departments. Additional information on faculty advising may be obtained by calling department offices.Undeclared majors are required to declare a major by the time they have earned 57 credits. Freshmen who are undeclared should contact New Student Experience at (973) 655-7609 for their advising. Undeclared students with 30 or more credits should contact Academic Advising. Students are encouraged to seek advisement each semester.
Older Adult Tuition Waiver Program

Telephone: (973) 655-4433The Center for Adult Learning oversees the Older Adult Tuition Waiver (OLA) Program which is for New Jersey residents, age 65 or over. The OLA program allows students to take courses on a space-available, tuition-waived basis. Students are only responsible for the student fees plus a $25 administrative fee each semester enrolled. Students with a high school diploma or its equivalence may take undergraduate courses. Students with an undergraduate degree may take undergraduate or graduate couses, but must pay graduate fees regardless of the course level. OLA students are also eligible for a degree program by meeting all of the necesary admission requirements.
Part-Time Provisionally Matriculated Students

Telephone: (973) 655-4433Students who do not meet admissions criteria for full-time or part-time matriculated status are accepted by the University on a provisional basis. Under this category, students are limited to a maximum of 9 semester hours each semester. Upon completion of 15-18 semester hours of course work and a grade point average of 2.000 ("C") or better, students are granted matriculation status. At this point, students register for a full-time program.Provisionally matriculated students who do not meet the minimum retention requirement after 15 semester hours of course work are dismissed from the University.During the prematriculation period, students are advised individually and in groups by counselors. Additional services include Orientation and Advisement for new students. Provisionally matriculated students may attend day, evening, or weekend classes.
