Incoming and outgoing mail is received and processed in the Central Mail Distribution Center. Mail is delivered daily to each department and at the same time interoffice and outgoing mail is collected daily from these departments.  Parcel post is generally delivered at the same time.

All outgoing mail must have an account number and/or department name on the return address.  Any mail that is returned without this information will be opened in order to forward it to the appropriate person or department. Opening of all such correspondence shall be performed by the Office of Facilities Operations.

Incoming mail addressed to an individual who does not appear to be on campus, where possible, will be returned to the sender.

Personnel anticipating bulk mailings, either first or third class, must confirm with the Supervisor of the Mail Center (Ext. 4189) to ensure that all postal regulations governing such mailings are met and that sufficient funds are available in the University's account at the local post office.  At least five working days lead time is required for large mailings.

It is important that all personnel keep the Mail Center apprised of their current location(s) on campus to expedite delivery of mail. The Mail Center should also be advised of any changes in home address where mail can be forwarded.

Please note that the Mail Center will serve as a Federal Express drop-off location for pre-arranged pick-ups only.

There is a U.S., Postal Service mailbox and a Federal Express box on the west side of College Hall. Outgoing mail may also be dropped off at the Mail Center during business hours.

Stamps for personal use are available in the Bookstore located in the Student Center.
