Montclair State University’s Teacher Education Program is coordinated by the Center of Pedagogy (CoP), which is located on the first floor of University Hall. Dedicated to the art and science of teaching and learning, the CoP enjoys the distinction of being the first such agency in the country to focus its resources on the direction and coordination of the various aspects of the renewal of teacher education both in the university and in the public schools. Although the Center includes a staff and units on campus, the Center is actually comprised of three groups: faculty in education, faculty in the arts and sciences, and faculty from our partner school districts. The Center of Pedagogy (CoP) coordinates teacher education student record maintenance and job placement opportunities, as well as national accreditation and state certification program approval processes.
For more information about becoming a teacher, visit the Office of Teacher Education Admissions and Retention in Suite 1160 of University Hall, view the website at http://cehs.montlair.edu/academic/cop/teacher, or call 655-7976.
