The Center of Pedagogy is located on the lower level of Chapin Hall. The Center has overall responsibility for the direction and coordination of all aspects of the education of educators, including undergraduate and graduate programs, and a doctoral program in pedagogy, The New Jersey Network for Educational Renewal, a partnership with 21 local school districts, and other national network teacher education initiatives.
The Director of the Center reports to the Dean of the College of Education and Human Services and to the Center of Pedagogy Advisory Board.
The Center oversees the Office of Teacher Education Admissions (Ext. 7976) and the Teacher Education Advocacy Center (Ext. 7696) designed to recruit and support students from underrepresented groups in teaching. Affiliated with the Center, as well, is the Agenda for Education in a Democracy, an organization devoted to educating professionals for social justice and the moral and ethical responsibilities of teaching through professional development and leadership activities.
