ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Graduation Honors

Undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of 51 undergraduate credits at Montclair State University are eligible to be recognized for academic honors.  No more than 3 credits with the grade "P" may be included in the 51 credits required.

ACADEMIC HONORS ARE AWARDED AS FOLLOWS:

Average of 3.450 - 3.649 cum laude
Average of 3.650 - 3.849 magna cum laude
Average of 3.850 - 4.000 summa cum laude

A period of two months after the graduation date should be allowed for verification of cumulative average, printing and mailing of diplomas.  However, the honors notation will appear on the official transcript shortly after graduation.  Department honors and Honors Program honors are also posted to academic records at this time.
