Retention Standards
All undergraduate students whose cumulative grade point average (GPA) is below 2.00 are automatically on probation. Students on probation are not permitted to remain in the University if they fail to meet minimum retention standards. Full-time undergraduates are expected to earn a minimum of 12 semester hours per semester of attendance.
Students are subject to academic actions if their cumulative GPA is below minimum retention for the number of semester hours earned. Semester hours earned include all courses passed at Montclair and any credits earned through transfer, credit by examination or assessment.
