Teacher Certification Requirements

Teacher certification in combination with major programs may require the completion of more than 120 semester hours prior to graduation. In addition, to be recommended by MSU for certification, students must pass the appropriate PRAXIS II examination. For details on specific programs, consult the current University catalog, the program worksheet prepared by the advisor in the subject-major department, or contact the Center of Pedagogy in University Hall. For applications to the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program, students must visit the office in University Hall, Suite 1160 or call (973) 655-4262.
