Nearly 140 golfers and supporters turned out on Monday, September 16, for the Inaugural Red Hawk Open. The event, which took place at the Rock Spring Club in West Orange, NJ, benefited Montclair State University Athletic teams and programs.
The day started with lunch, and the weather cooperated to give the golfers a great day on the course. After hitting the links, golfers and guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails, dinner and a silent auction.
President Susan A. Cole offered greetings from the university, and Athletics Director Holly Gera ’79 gave an update on the athletics program. NCAA All-American, Heather Gearity, spoke on behalf of student athletes. The night was a great opportunity to reflect and reminisce, make new friends, and reconnect with fellow alumni, all while supporting Montclair State University Athletics.
Event sponsors included the Montclair State University Foundation, Qualcare Inc., Terminal Construction Corporation, Schumacher Chevrolet, Evergreen Partners, Inc., Wells Fargo, PSE&G and Sodexo, in addition to eighteen hole sponsors.
