Waitlist for eligible commuter students:

• Wait list for returning commuter students

Please read carefully the general steps to be eligible for a wait list:

Step 1:
Students must have paid a $125.00 non-refundable housing application fee. Payment of this fee serves to indicate your interest in residing in campus housing once again. Checks should be made out to "Montclair State University" (please write "Spring 2010 Housing Application Fee" in the memo portion of check) and submit to:

Step 2:

Make sure that there are no holds/obligations existing on your student account by reviewing the holds page of your WESS account. If there are any holds on your account (financial, registration, parking, immunization, library fines, etc), you will not be eligible to be placed in a vacancy and will be moved to the bottom of the wait list. The Office of Residential Services will notify you that we were unable to place you due to the hold on your account. 

Step 3:

Review below the following wait list and criteria. Then click on the hyper link to access the wait list.

Failure to complete the correct wait list form will cause you to move to the bottom of the new wait list.

Please also note that students are offered a space based on their indicated preferences, and some students may be placed before others due to what a student indicates as a preference.

The Office of Residential Education and Services will place people from the wait list into available bed spaces and will contact the student via MSU email and the phone number indicated on the wait list form. Failure to respond to the offer within 24 hours will invalidate the offer and the student will be removed from the wait list and the housing application fee will be forfeited. 

Returning Commuter Students
To be eligible for this wait list you must have:

1. Paid the Housing Application Fee
2. Have no holds on your account
3. Meet the credit requirements for The Village or Clove Road Apartments if selected
4. Please note that this wait list will also be based on date of application fee paid and distance from your permanent address to the University
