Mission
Statement
The Office of the Dean
of Enrollment Management operates to develop and manage measurable
strategic and operational initiatives relative to enrolling and retaining-to-graduation
students for whom Montclair State
University is an ideal fit. This Office seeks to set and meet
targets that support the mission of Montclair State University as
a premier regional institution of higher learning, while realizing
the vision of Student
Development and Campus Life, as well as the Office
of the President.
Letter From the Dean
At the onset I would like to extend a
personal welcome to Montclair State University colleagues, students, faculty, and staff members.
As the Dean of Enrollment Management
my responsibilities are varied, but chief among them is the management
of a comprehensive strategic plan for student enrollment. The development
of a valuable enrollment management plan begins with information derived from research
(both qualitative and quantitative).
Utilizing an enrollment management model
which takes into account all areas of the University is important to the success of strategic enrollment
management, and more specifically, the advancement of retention planning.
Two key components of student retention are student satisfaction,
and the collective experiences a student has here at Montclair State. A dissatisfied
student is one who is less likely to commit to the University for their entire
academic career. A satisfied student is one who is likely to commit
to Montclair State, and even more likely to share their positive experiences with
prospective MSU students. It is therefore incumbent upon us all to
give our very best effort in this endeavor.
Sincerely,
Dr. Reginald Ross
