The Volunteer Resource Center's main objective is to construct, improve, and nurture a principle of lifelong service among the Montclair State University community by encouraging students, faculty, staff, and alumni to participate in communityoutreach projects on and off campus. The office is overseen by EECO and Bonner Americorps leaders at Montclair State University, all of whom share a commitment and passion to civic engagement through service. We work together to promote service-minded attitudes and practices within the Red Hawk community.
By engaging students in community service, the VRC hopes to foster a sense of social responsibility and create valuable learning experiences outside the classroom. We believe these experiences will lend themselves to the personal development and overall welfare of our students. At the same time, we hope to highlight and address areas of critical need within our own and other communities throughout the state, which may lack adequate available resources. Red Hawk Volunteers will have the unique opportunity to make a progressive impact on these communities through meaningful service and outreach.
