There are different ways to get to MSU
To promote the use of public transportation to campus, MSU and NJ Transit have partnered to offer full-time students, both undergraduate and graduate, a 25% discount on a rail, bus, or light rail monthly pass when they enroll through NJ Transit’s Quik-Tik Program. Click here for info.
Shuttles: MSU’s shuttle fleet helps transport students around campus from different “Shuttle Stops” that bring them to Main Campus (outside of University Hall). In addition to MSU’s shuttle fleet, five bus lines currently operate on campus--four from NJ Transit and one private carrier.
Trains: MSU is home to two train stations on its campus--the Montclair State University station at the north end and the Montclair Heights station at the south end.
Bicycle: MSU encourages students, faculty and staff to use bicycles. Students with a valid MSU ID have the option of renting a bicycle from Campus Recreation to use; there are several bicycle racks located on campus.
