Chief Justice

Gil Balanzat

The Chief Justice is an integral part of a properly functioning Student Government Association. For the Fall 2012 to Spring 2013 school year this prestigious position is filled by Gil Balanzat. Gil is a military veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a senior at Montclair State University. He has previously served as a Legislator in the SGA. As Chief Justice he is charged with upholding the integrity of the SGA by overseeing and leading the administrative functions and oral arguments of the Justice Branch. The Justice Branch hears cases concerning alleged violations of the constitution, statutes, and the student bill of rights, making judgments that represent the best interest of the student body.
