At Montclair State University, the Bonner AmeriCorps program incorporates leadership and service through community partnerships. The Bonner Leaders have launched a Community Service Resource Room (Bonner S.P.O.T.S.), housed in the Center for Student Involvement, in an effort to connect students with volunteer opportunities, and vice versa. Bonner’s also participate in mentoring programs with community partners, engage in education initiatives and support charitable efforts on campus, as well as benefit from feedback and programming to encourage personal development. Bonner’s are committed to community building, diversity, social justice and civic engagement. Bonner S.P.O.T.S., located in the Student Center, room 104J, is a place where students and organizations can come to learn about and/or sign up for volunteer opportunities. We hope you’ll visit us!

Who Are We?

If you or your organization enjoy community service, then the Bonner SPOTS office is for you! The Bonner Leader program is an AmeriCorps program affiliated with the Bonner Foundation, a national organization that promotes community service, civic engagement and leadership development.

The Bonner Leaders at Montclair State University concentrate on service to our campus as well as service to local communities. We staff the Community Service Resource Room (Bonner SPOTS) located in the Student Center Building, Room 104J. This center is a place where students and organizations can come to learn about volunteer opportunities.

Community Service Advisory Board

Does your organization do community service? Come to our bi-weekly CSAB (Community Service Advisory Board) Meeting. This is where students, staff, and faculty meet to let each other know about community service initiatives that are happening. It is GREAT for networking, to try to get co-sponsorships, or to get help from other organizations.

Can’t make it to the meetings? That‘s okay! Just keep us updated by e-mailing or calling us and we will help try to match you with others to help make your events bigger and better.

Whether you are an individual looking for just one or two community service events, or an organization looking for many, we are looking to help YOU! We want to be able to help you find your match to do good for the community as well as to have fun while doing it!
