Students on rocky shore in Brazil

Study Abroad Peer Advisors

Did you have a great experience studying abroad and want to share it with others? Do you want to help students to find the right study abroad program for them? Being a Study Abroad Peer Advisor might be the opportunity for you!

Study Abroad Peer Advisors, or SAPAs for short, are students who have previously studied abroad and now represent their program and country at events and tables on campus. As a SAPA, you could be doing anything from giving information sessions to representing your country at our annual Study Abroad Fair.

The Office of International Academic Initiatives is looking for Study Abroad Peer Advisors(SAPAS) for the 2023-2024 year. This is a volunteer position that allows you to connect with students at Montclair State University who are looking to study abroad in the future. This position would include classroom visits, tabling at events and fairs, and connecting with some of our exchange students who are studying at Montclair as well at events.
This volunteer position aims to allow students develop their communication skills, hone public speaking capabilities, and develop interpersonal skills which are all desired in a growing global marketplace. This is a low commitment opportunity that works with your schedule, helps boost your resume, and gives you some exclusive Study Abroad swag.
