Take You Daughter to Work Day 2008 -
Girls Making Choices for a Better World

A day of leaderships activities and personal development for girls ages 9-14. Registration and permission slips required. Please call 973-655-5114 for additional information.

8:30 - 9:00am - Registration, Nametag Creation

Please bring your daughter to Student Center Room 419.

9:15 - 10:00am - Self Esteem for Girls

With Esmilda Abreu, Director of Equity and Diversity/Women's Center

10:15 - 11:00am - Global Girls: Growing Up in Afghanistan, Studying in the U.S.

Discussion led by Dewa Mangal, Suraya Azimi, and Maryam Aziz, MSU Students and Representatives of the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women.

11:05 - 11:30am - The New Girls Club: Women Lawyers

With Professor Jessica Henry, Justice Studies Department

11:30am - 12:00pm - Women's History Icebreaker

12:00 pm - Pick up your daughters for the day - Brooke McKinney, defensive back from the New York Sharks.

Pick up your daughters in Student Center Room 421, and bring them to the Student Center Quad. There, we will meet Brooke McKinney, defensive back for the New York Sharks Women's Tackle Football Team.

Bring your daughter to your workplace to learn about what you do at your job. Have your daughter interview you using the "What does my mom/dad do at work?" form from her booklet.

You are also invited to attend the World's Fair in the Student Center Quad, running from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Celebrate the diversity of world cultures at MSU with this festival of dance performances, food, traditional costumes, and games.
