Hawkeye Search is a custom-built search engine for montclair.edu that indexes four types of information:
- Selected Pages – Displayed with a title and brief summary.
- Departments – Displayed with location and phone number.
- People – Displayed with title, email and phone number.
- Academic Programs – Displayed with a brief summary and list of programs offered.
Hawkeye Search powers a handful of site features – most notably the main menu’s live search, homepage search area and academic program finder.
To request items for inclusion in Hawkeye Search please email digitalcommunications@montclair.edu. We will need to know: the page URL, name and summary. Please also include any additional keywords that should be connected with the item.
Google Search
The University also presents Google Search results on our search page. While Google is able to index every page and PDF document on the site, it updates its index infrequently and often retains references to out-of-date or irrelevant information. Please contact Digital Communications if you need to submit updates to the Google index, but we have limited ability to effect updates.
