Alumni Green is a beautifully laid out landscaped area located between College Hall and Sprague Library. Alumni Green was established in 1996 and dedicated at Alumni Weekend in the same year. It was made possible through the generous bequests of Barbara A. Wolf '28 and Margaret R. Gerdinick '38 '49 MA. After Alumni Green was established, the remainder of the initial bequest was used to endow the Green and its perpetual care.
Alumni Green is a living area to commemorate the 80,000 MSU alumni. Alumni and friends can purchase an inscribed brick for the area, a dedicated bench or a dedicated tree. The dedicated benches and trees have plaques indicating who purchased and dedicated them. The MSU Alumni Association officially launched the Buy A Brick Program in 1998 and they were dedicated during Alumni Weekend 1999. |
