Alderdice House, located at 14 Normal Avenue on the South Campus of MSU, is the home of the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children. The Institute is the International Headquarters of the world-famous elementary/secondary school curriculum which emphasizes getting children to discuss ideas, to reflect on their own thinking, and to turn their opinions into reasoned judgments. The IAPC develops curriculum materials, organizes experimental research in Philosophy for Children, and devises new approaches to teacher education.
