Students engage in courses like Physiological Ecology of Animals, Advanced Aquatic Biological Processes, and Evolutionary Mechanisms. The research and coursework emphasize the integrative nature of biological studies. Courses such as Comparative Animal Physiology and Gross Mammalian Anatomy provide strong foundations for work in biomedical science, neuroscience, or academic research. Students who wish to pursue P-12 in Biological Science teacher certification must apply to and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program.<br \/>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<div class=\"prpl-band lt-gray no-margin\"><div class=\"text-content\">\n<h2><strong>Admission Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Equivalent of a U.S. bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants with non-U.S. degrees: Please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/graduate\/how-to-apply\/international-applicants\/\">international applicants page<\/a> to review U.S. degree equivalency information.<\/li>\n<li>Prior to matriculation for the Master of Science degree in biology, the student should have completed a subject matter of at least twenty-four semester hours in biology and have adequate preparation in college chemistry, mathematics and physics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Application Checklist<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Application Deadline: Rolling admission.<\/li>\n<li>Online Application: Submit application and $60 non-refundable fee (or waiver if applicable).<\/li>\n<li>Transcript: One from each college attended.<\/li>\n<li>Essays\/Personal Statement \u2013 Please write one integrated essay providing a response to each of the following questions:\n<ul>\n<li>What are your goals for graduate study and your future career?<\/li>\n<li>In what ways do your academic background and your professional experiences provide evidence of your potential for success in the program you selected and in your eventual career?
