The Latin American and Latino Studies minor is a vibrant, interdisciplinary program that combines invigorating learning opportunities and community engagement with a focus on the rich heritage and contemporary trends of Latino-based cultures in the United States and beyond.<\/p>\n

Explore relevant social and cultural issues, such as immigration, transnationalism, feminism(s), Latinx intersectionality, gender and identity, Latinx health and sexuality, linguistics, poetry and creative writing, Colonialism\/Postcolonialism, Indigenous Peoples from Latin America, among others.<\/p>\n

You will have opportunities to participate in different program projects, such as Oral History initiatives, and collaborations with faculty from several departments. And, although it is not required, the transformative experience of Study Abroad is recommended and encouraged.<\/p>\n

This 18-credit minor is open to students of any major. In addition to a required course and a capstone project, you can choose a wide range of elective courses from departments as varied as Anthropology, History, Political Science and Law, Spanish and Latino Studies, Psychology, and Earth and Environmental Studies.<\/p>\n
