The Portuguese Studies minor offers a unique combination of literary, linguistic and cultural experiences for undergraduate students. Here, in the cradle of one of the largest Luso-Brazilian communities in the country, the program will open the door for you to communicate and interact socially with people on four continents.<\/p>\n

Spoken by more than 230 million people, Portuguese is the fastest-growing language in social media and one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Open to students of any major, the minor in Portuguese Studies is an 18-credit interdisciplinary program that allows you to explore the rich heritage and contemporary trends of Luso-Brazilian language, literature and culture. You will take a minimum of 9 credit hours of specific courses taught in Portuguese and complete the remaining credit hours with courses either in Portuguese or in English.<\/p>\n
