Student on Winning Team at Startup Weekend NJ

Montclair State University freshman Altarik Banks was a member of the winning team at the recent Startup Weekend New Jersey, a 54-hour marathon over three days with the goal of creating a new company. Banks, who is in the ENTR 201 "Entrepreneurial Mindset and Innovation" course, was one of three Montclair State students participating among 120 people at the March 28-30 event in Somerset. Italian Language and Culture Day at Montclair State: Time Travel–in Italiano!

The Italian Teachers Association of New Jersey (ITANJ) and the Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America at Montclair State joined forces for their seventh annual collaboration, Italian Language and Culture Day. Softball Takes NCAA Montclair Regional, Earns Berth in Super Regional

The top-seeded Red Hawks captured the NCAA Division III Softball Montclair Regional with a 2-0 victory over Haverford College. The victory pushes Montclair State (39-6) into next weekend's NCAA Division III Super Regionals where it will meet NJAC rival Kean University in a best-of-three series beginning on Friday, May 16. Silvestri Named Fireman of the Year, Holowaty Coach of the Year as MSU Puts Three on All-NJAC Team

Senior lefthander John Silvestri was named the Fireman of the Year while Acting Head Coach Jared Holowaty was named the Co-Coach of the Year as Montclair State placed three players on the NJAC All-Conference Baseball Team. Gemar Mills '05

Now in his early thirties, Gemar Mills ’05 has already accomplished than some educators do in their entire careers. Ever since he first started as a math teacher, Mills has worked with students at Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark to dramatically improve their standardized test scores. He quickly was promoted to chair of the math department and later promoted to principal of the school. [View full details]

Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation

The Graduate Certificate in Program Evaluation prepares individuals to meet the growing demand for professionals with evaluation and applied research skills.

Students learn both theory and applied methods for conducting evaluations of programs in areas including education, public health, social services, community development, environmental management and human resources.

The program is offered in a hybrid format, allowing students to take classes on one Saturday per month and completed additional work online. The entire certificate can be completed in 10 short months.
