Following up on 2015\u2019s highly successful gathering and tour of the Fox Studios<\/a> in Los Angeles, a Montclair State University contingent is once again traveling to the City of Angels to host an alumni gathering and tour of a major motion picture studio this coming summer.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Highlighting the University\u2019s newly established strategic alliance with Sony Electronics<\/a>, Los Angeles-area alumni are invited to join Montclair State University President Susan A. Cole and University administrators for a tour of Sony Pictures Studios followed by a cocktail reception where Dr. Cole will provide a University update and a Sony executive will talk about the Montclair State\/Sony partnership.<\/p>\n

The tour and reception will take place on June 8, 2016, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California. It promises to be an exciting and informative event offering West Coast alumni the chance to get together with each other, and with University officials including Dr. Cole, Vice President for University Advancement Jack Shannon, College of the Arts Dean Daniel Gurskis, and School of Communication and Media Director Merrill Brown, among others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love attending the west coast Montclair State alumni events every year. They’re a terrific reminder about how far reaching our alumni network is. They also provide an excellent opportunity to make new connections, considering the wide breadth of graduating classes often in attendance, and bolster old ones,\u201d says Ray Carsillo \u201907. <\/p>\n

The event will mark the third year in a row that Montclair State has hosted a get-together for alumni on the West Coast, giving them an opportunity to network with fellow Red Hawks and to learn all about Montclair State\u2019s notable recent accomplishments and exciting future plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough we may be on the opposite side of the country, we always keep our West Coast alumni in mind when planning our events for the year,\u201d says Jenna Villani, Associate Director of Alumni Relations. \u201cWe would love to have them come back and visit the campus to see how we\u2019ve grown but for those who can\u2019t make it, we\u2019ll bring a taste of Montclair State to them.\u201d<\/p>\n
