Having a professional sports team call your campus home presents many unique opportunities. Montclair State students can attend NJ Jackals\u2019 games just a walk away from their classes, or hear the roar of the fans while getting some work done outside. Joe Redmon \u201915 took these opportunities to the next level.<\/p>\n
Being on campus so close to the NJ Jackals home field, as well as a degree in business administration, opened the door for Redmon to become an integral part of the team. Previously working for the NJ Jackals as director of corporate partnerships, Redmon proved himself a hard worker with a competitive edge, earning his most recent promotion to general manager.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust as the game on the field, being a professional in the sports industry can be very competitive and challenging,\u201d says Redmon. \u201cIt is important that you bring the same level of competitiveness as the athletes do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Redmon is not unfamiliar with athletic competition. During his four years at Montclair State, he spent four seasons playing for the Club Ice Hockey Team where he says he made lifelong friends and his favorite memories of Montclair State.<\/p>\n
Taking that experience from the ice to the baseball field, Redmon continues to call Montclair State home beyond his education and into his professional career. This personal connection is what Redmon says makes his position as the Jackals general manager truly special to him.<\/p>\n
