{"id":211730,"date":"2022-11-22T11:45:25","date_gmt":"2022-11-22T16:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/alumni\/?p=211730"},"modified":"2022-11-22T11:45:25","modified_gmt":"2022-11-22T16:45:25","slug":"university-rises-in-higher-education-rankings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/alumni\/2022\/11\/22\/university-rises-in-higher-education-rankings\/","title":{"rendered":"University Rises in Higher Education Rankings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Montclair State University\u2019s reputation is growing, and the leading higher education rankings are taking notice.<\/p>\n<p>Montclair received two top-100 rankings \u2013 including No. 7 in the world in a critical research metric \u2013 in\u00a0<em>U.S. News &amp; World Report<\/em>\u2019s 2022 \u201cBest Global Universities\u201d rankings, which highlight 2,000 institutions worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>U.S. News<\/em>\u00a0rankings showcase the University\u2019s growing research footprint and global impact. Montclair ranks No. 7 in the world in \u201cNormalized Citation Impact\u201d (the average number of times a research paper is cited in other works \u2013 a key metric of research impact) and No. 93 in the percentage of papers that are among the top 1% cited in their respective fields. Overall, the University rose 159 spots to No. 1,008 in the 2022 rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Montclair has also been ranked No. 90 in the nation among more than 1,500 institutions in\u00a0<em>Washington Monthly\u2019s<\/em>\u00a02022 \u201cCollege Guide and Rankings,\u201d which highlights institutions displaying excellence in social mobility, research, and community and national service.
