The Paterson Alliance gave him an\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/patersonalliance.org\/events\/extra-mile-awards\" target=\"_blank\">Extra Mile Award<\/a>\u00a0at a luncheon on May 11, 2017. Snyder was recognized for his outstanding contributions during a\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.citygreenonline.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">City Green<\/a>\u00a0internship that he completed in the summer of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>During his internship, Synder worked closely with Montclair State alumna Claudia Urdanivia and the experience was supported by a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/anthropology\/awards-and-scholarships\/bigel-grant\/\">Bigel Grant<\/a>. At City Green, Snyder acted as a docent and conducted research on best practices for establishing community gardens. This summer, he will put that research into practice working with community partners in Orange to build a new community garden along with a fellow anthropology student, Warren Bristol.<\/p>\n<p>This fall, Snyder will return to Montclair State to pursue a Master&#8217;s degree in Public Health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More on:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/anthropology\/\">Department of Anthropology<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/anthropology\/awards-and-scholarships\/bigel-grant\/\">Grants from the Antoinette C.
