Prospective Apprentices

Learn While You Earn

High school graduates, college students and mid-career professionals are eligible for the Montclair Apprenticeship Program (MAP), which lasts between one and five years depending on your area of focus.

Working with the U.S. Department of Labor and N.J. Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the MAP team and employer partners are creating work process schedules that structure each apprenticeship. Your time will be split between classes at Montclair State or a career-technical studies program off campus and a job placement, where apprentices work with employers who provide expert career-related instruction as well as invaluable hands-on experience in the field.

Apprentices who successfully complete our MAP program will earn a Completion of Registered Apprenticeship certificate, a nationally recognized and portable credential that endorses your proficiency in a particular field. Once you hold the certificate, you’ll be ready to dive into an exciting career – with help from our Center for Career Services, which has wide-ranging ties to employers across New Jersey or further education in a related field at Montclair State University.
