Registered Apprenticeship in Facilities

This apprenticeship meets the needs of Montclair State University itself, which is the second-largest university in New Jersey and has many extremely technical buildings on campus. To maintain our facilities, we are recruiting apprentices for the following positions:

  • Building repairer
  • Carpenter
  • Electrician
  • HVAC
  • Plumber and steamfitter

As an apprentice, you’ll take related technical instruction classes offered by career-technical schools in New Jersey while gaining on-the-job work experience at Montclair State. When you complete the apprenticeship, which can last between two to five years, you’ll be eligible to apply for a journeyman license. In some skilled trade areas like the plumbing and electrical trades, graduate apprentices can take the next step to a master’s license. Graduation from an apprenticeship program can be your passport to a successful career.
