The rollout of a new curriculum promises to make our department stronger than ever. As we continue to advance our department we aim to increase our collaborative network of art and design professionals, business owners, and supporters. Join us for this unique event and see for yourself the wonderful work our students create!<\/p>\n<p>With the rising costs of education, the Department of Art and Design at Montclair State University offers promising and talented creative individuals an excellent education for relatively affordable costs. However, many of our students still need financial support. The proceeds of this event will go towards an<strong>\u00a0Outstanding Student Award in the Department of Art and Design.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About Share Fare: an Experiment in Communal Eating<\/strong><br \/>\nRuth Borgenicht\u00a0is an alumna of the\u00a0MFA in Studio Arts<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>program at Montclair State University and currently teaches Beginning Sculpture in the Department of Art and Design. Borgenicht creates unconventional eating vessels that must be manipulated by multiple diners to figure out the best way to engage with the food prepared by Halycon\u2019s chef, Tess Tripodi. The dinner is a collaborative group activity based on sharing, mutuality, and community-mindedness. Group orchestration is required to use the hand-made ceramic vessels, which connect strangers and friends in a stimulating, communally interdependent eating event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Halcyon\u00a0<\/strong>seafood brasserie is a Montclair neighborhood restaurant offering a raw bar, chef-prepared entrees, and brasserie plates. This event will be a Prix Fixe dinner of $75 which includes a three-course meal, glass of wine, and a donation to the\u00a0<strong>Montclair State University Department of Art and Design Outstanding Student Award<\/strong>.
