{"id":12177,"date":"2013-12-03T10:10:40","date_gmt":"2013-12-03T15:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/news\/article.php?ArticleID=12177"},"modified":"2018-10-18T15:01:59","modified_gmt":"2018-10-18T19:01:59","slug":"12177_-triumph-of-philippine-art-at-segal-gallery-through-december-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/arts\/2013\/12\/03\/12177_-triumph-of-philippine-art-at-segal-gallery-through-december-15\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cTriumph of Philippine Art\u201d at Segal Gallery through December 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Now in its final weeks, \u201cTriumph of Philippine Art,\u201d an exhibit of contemporary Filipino and Filipino-American art, is running through December 15 at Montclair State University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/galleries\/\">George Segal Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring works by such artists as Benedicto \u201cBenCab\u201d Cabrera, Ernest Concepcion, Karen Ocampo Flores and Pablo Baen Santos, the exhibit uses art to trace the nation\u2019s recent political history from the martial law period (1972-1986) through the peaceful People Power Revolution of 1986 to the present.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by Montclair State University and the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ayalamuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ayala Museum<\/a> (Manila), in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General of New York, the exhibit is curated by M.
