Art Forum Presents: Ruby Chishti, Installation Artist
Ruby Chishti was born in Jhang Pakistan. Over the last 13 years, she has produced a series of lyrical sculptures and installations that touch on such issues as gender politics, universal theme of love, loss and of being human. Her work has been exhibited at various international venues including Art HongKong, Arco Madrid, India Art Fair, the Queens Museum NY; the Harris Museum, Preston UK; Taubman Museum of Art, Virginia; Icon Gallery in NY, and Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi. Graduated from National College of Arts, Lahore Pakistan, Ruby Chishti now lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. “Art comes from life” is a lecture focused on Ruby Chishti’s unique Art practice.
Art Forum is a weekly program for undergraduate and graduate students, and the public. The program brings in artists, designers, art historians and art critics from around the world to present their work and ideas in an open forum. It is also a course (ARGS 280, 3 SH). Admission is free.
