2015 Safe[r] Space Conference
Each spring the LGBTQ Center coordinates the Safe[r] Space Conference at Montclair State University in collaboration eith the Office of Health Promotion. Fundamental and advanced-level workshops and educational sessions provide personal and professional development opportunities to members of our community on topics related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and allied individuals. While some workshops are offered to provide advanced-level training to those who have completed our Safe Space Training Program, anyone can attend these workshops regardless of their education. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, high school students, or community members and organizations are invited to attend.
What can you expect this year?
- 3 Red Hawk Talks - Personal stories in the form of TED talks by LGBTQ+ students
- 4 breakout Sessions
- 12 fundamental and advanced-level workshops
- An education session on allyship
- A relaxing art space
- Free rapid HIV testing
- A film screening of The Mask You Live In
