On Monday, April 27, you have the opportunity to donate blood with the American Red Cross. This event is hosted by the Center for Student Involvement Volunteer Resource Center.

When and Were?

The Blood Drive will be held in:

  • Student Center Ballrooms B&C
  • 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Make your appointment today!

To ensure that you are able to donate blood on April 27, please make an appointment at:  redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code: Redhawk.

If you are not able to schedule an appointment, you can still donate, but will have to wait because those with appointments receive preference.

What to expect when you arrive to give blood

On the blood drive day, please report to Ballroom B&C. You will need either your donation card or your ID (MSU ID is fine!)

When you arrive, you will be logged in, given some literature to read over, and then asked to wait. Once a nurse from the American Red Cross is free, they will call you over. Your personal information will be used for the purposes of determining whether your blood can be used or not.

It only takes 30 minutes to change a life!

After the preliminary stages, you are ready to give blood. The process takes about 20 minutes. Afterwards, you will be escorted to a recovery table, where there will be snacks and water to prevent you from becoming weak. When 10 minutes is up, you are free to go about your day.

Giving blood really is a simple way to help someone else!
