In 2014, The Office of Arts and Cultural Programming was awarded a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to develop and produce Dance for Film on Location at Montclair State University.  Through this unique project, exceptional choreographers and filmmakers are provided the opportunity to explore the art of dance when created especially for film, rather than as a documentation of dance performance.  The first film, "Soliloquy," directed and choreographed by Heidi Latsky, premiered at the Alexander Kasser Theater on April 16.  On May 8, as part of the University Teaching and Learning Showcase, Montclair State students Wedieu Cole, Laura Galarza, and Woravan Tangtrakul, along with Dance for Film on Location Project Coordinator Omonike Akinyemi, present their documentary that goes behind the scenes of the making of "Soliloquy."
