The MSU Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Kunkel, will present an all Latin Big Band program featuring the talents of the Grammy Award winning arranger and trumpeter Michael Philip Mossman, a faculty member at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. Mossman is perhaps best known for his arrangements for a variety of Latin ensembles, including those of Arturo Sandoval, Mario Bauza, Ray Barretto, Tito Puente, and Chico O'Farrill. He has also written extensively for films, for the NDR and WDR Big Bands in Germany, and has worked with a variety of jazz artists such as Joe Henderson and Bob Mintzer.
