About The Meeting:

Plan on attending this exciting meeting which will feature audience interaction! The AALAS is dedicated to the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals, as well as the quality research that leads to scientific gains that benefit people and animals.    

Christie Nicholson is an award-winning science journalist and co-founder of the publishing startup, Publet. She is a contributing editor at Scientific American and CBS.

She has been an on-air contributor to the:

  • Discovery Channel
  • The Science Channel
  • Produced/hosted Scientific American's podcast, 60-Second Mind, reaching an audience of 1.5M.

She is an adjunct professor at NYU’s school of journalism. Nicholson is on the board for South by South West Interactive and the Science Media Centre of Canada. She holds degrees from Dalhousie University in Canada and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism where she was awarded the Eibel Fellowship.

For the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science, Nicholson has led workshops since 2009 and has coached more than 3,000 scientists on communicating with colleagues, policy makers and the public.
