Dietary Habits and Health Problems in Poland: Past to Present

Dr. Gajewska is a faculty member in the Department of Dietetics at Warsaw University of Life Sciences. She is the President of the Polish Society of Dietetics and Member of the Committee in a joint nutrition project supported by a grant from Switzerland through the Swiss Contribution to the Enlarged European Union. She received a grant from the Coca-Cola Foundation for the project “Wise Nutrition, Healthy Generation”.
Her research focuses on three areas: preventive nutrition, diet therapy and patient education with chronic diseases. In cooperation with reputable medical institutions she conducts scientific research on diet therapy in the fields of gastroenterology, nephrology and cardiology.
Dr. Gajewska’s talk is about eating habits among Polish people; how they have changed over the years; the consequences of modern lifestyle and health issues in Poland with special focus on the prevalence of overweight and obesity among youth.
